AN EFL COURSEBOOK EVALUATION IN TERMS OF DESIGN AND LANGUAGE: PRIVATE SCHOOL SAMPLES IN SINOP

This study aims to evaluate an English textbook in a private school example Sinop. Although schools and public follow the same curriculum, there are differences preference. In this study, as external evaluation, was examined terms of design elements; and, internal book instructional elements. The research qualitative process carried out by two different researchers. Results showed that although found appropriate effective based on evaluation: graphic print quality; presentation four language skills poor. Reading skill most dominant presented, writing least presented textbook. Therefore, needed supportive material present other effectively. It is concluded not suitable for teaching effectively purposes content defined Ministry Education.
